In Kazakhstan, Construction Has Begun On A New Railway To China
Dec 22, 2023| In the Abay region, the construction of a double-track railway line 'Bakhty – Ayagoz' with a length of 272 kilometers has been initiated.

The completion and commissioning are planned by 2027.
Astana anticipates that this railway will increase the capacity between Kazakhstan and China by 71.4%, from 28 million to 48 million tons per year.
Kazakh specialists will build 11 stations, 47 bridges, 23 railway, and 8 road overpasses, five pedestrian bridges, and 16 observation structures.
During the construction of the new railway in Kazakhstan, a third railway crossing at the border with China, 'Bakhty – Chuguchak,' will also be opened.
