National Railway Mapping: Further Optimization Of Domestic Express And International Intermodal Transport

CCTV News: From April 1st, new freight train operation charts will be implemented for national railways. This map adjustment is an optimization and adjustment of the national railway freight train operation plan based on changes in domestic and international freight transportation demand. After the map adjustment, the transportation capacity of domestic high value-added express cargo and international intermodal cargo will be further enhanced.

At 4:08 on April 1st, with the 84212 first freight train crossing the Haoji Railway and Longhai Railway, it departed from Zhangjiawan Station in Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, marking the interconnection of the Haoji and Longhai railways. According to the newly implemented freight train diagram for national railways, the Zhengzhou Railway Department operates 5 cross line freight trains every day. It is understood that the Haoji Railway connects the main coal production areas of Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, and other energy demand areas such as Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangxi, while the Longhai Railway connects the northwest, central, and eastern regions. After the interconnection of the two lines, it is beneficial to enhance and promote the economic development of the Central Plains and drive the logistics development of the Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Yellow River, and Golden Triangle regions.

This map adjustment has further improved the transportation capacity of international intermodal goods. The Nanchang Railway Department has opened 13 additional sea rail intermodal trains, among which, the foreign trade multimodal trains from Xiangtang, Jiangxi, Ganzhou to Beilun Port, Ningbo, Zhejiang, and Yantian Port, Shenzhen, Guangdong have achieved a "daily" normal operation, basically forming a medium and long distance transportation pattern for bulk goods and container containers, mainly by rail and water transportation.

In terms of passenger transport, as the passenger train diagram was adjusted on December 26, 2022, and can basically meet the travel needs of passengers during this year's Spring Festival transportation period, no large-scale adjustments have been made to the diagram for the time being. The flexible capacity arrangement of "one map per day" is still implemented for passenger trains based on passenger flow requirements.
