Vietnam's North-South Railway Derailed When A Lorry Collided With A Truck

After a preliminary investigation, the truck in question broke down and stalled on the tracks while attempting to cross a civilian road that intersects with the railway. At the same moment the freight train came, the truck driver found the danger and jumped out of the car to avoid the danger, but the train was still unable to brake in time, and the final impact occurred. The accident caused serious deformation of the truck and damage to railway facilities, which had a great impact on railway transport.

After the accident, the railway authorities urgently mobilised three 100-tonne cranes and 200 workers to repair the accident overnight, but it still took 24 hours to restore access. It is understood that the repair progress had been slow, mainly because of the accident occurred in the terrain is complex, large cranes until the night of the incident can not reach the scene. In the meantime, more than 10 passenger trains were forced to be diverted and cargo transport was seriously delayed.
