The construction of this 350 kilometers per hour high-speed railway has made new progress

The successful closure of the bridge with the largest span and the highest height along the entire line of the West Extension High-speed Railway marks a major milestone in the construction of the West Extension High-speed Railway bridge project. It also provides valuable experience for the construction of similar types of bridges with high piers, large spans, and continuous rigid frames in China.

The Wangjiahe Bridge of the West Extension High-Speed Railway is located in Wangyi District, Tongchuan City, with a total length of 1,066.7 meters. It is designed to span the Wangjiahe Valley, Yanxi Expressway and the existing railway line. The maximum pier height is 75 meters and the maximum span is 248 meters. Adopting the beam first and then arch, and vertical lifting technology of the arch, the bridge structure design is complex, the technical level is high, the construction is difficult, and the safety risk is high.

The West Extension High-speed Railway line has a total length of 299.8 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an important part of the Baotou (Yin)-Sea Channel from Yinchuan to Haikou in my country's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. After the completion of the project, the running time from Xi'an to Yan'an will be shortened from the current two and a half hours to about one hour, which will greatly facilitate the travel of people along the line and will be instrumental in consolidating and expanding the results of poverty alleviation in old revolutionary areas, comprehensively promoting rural revitalization, and forming the great development of the western region. The new pattern is of great significance.
