Among the tamping machines, the switch tamping machine and the line tamping machine have similar appearance and similar functions, and they are both hydraulic tamping machines. So how should we distinguish the difference between them.

Hydraulic turnout tamping machine

The hydraulic turnout tamping machine is suitable for tamping operations in the most complex and difficult turnout sections in line maintenance. The switch part, switch connection part, switch and guard rail parts can all be used for tamping operations, which can meet the needs of railway ballast tamping operations.

Basic structure and working principle

Basic structure: The hydraulic turnout tamping machine consists of two parts: a traveling frame and a tamping device. The tamping device consists of a fuel tank (including internal combustion engine, gear pump, hydraulic control valve), vibrating frame and tamping pick.

Driven by the lifting cylinder, the oil tank drives the vibrating frame to insert the tamping pick into the track bed or lift it; the tamping pick is driven by the oil cylinder to achieve opening or clamping.

The internal combustion engine drives the eccentric iron on the vibrating frame through a belt to rotate the vibrating shaft to generate vibration. The violent vibration of the tamping hammer makes the ballast on the track bed become dense.

Hydraulic line tamping machine

The hydraulic line tamping machine can perform tamping operations on ballasted lines of domestic Type II and III concrete sleepers, and can also perform tamping operations on various foreign concrete sleepers and steel sleeper lines. The main technical performance is higher than that of the old tamping machine. This machine is suitable for tamping different types of rails and concrete sleeper lines after cleaning and cleaning operations on large and medium-sized lines; it is also suitable for tamping ballast on the track bed of new lines. This machine has superior performance, reasonable structure, safety and reliability, and high operating efficiency, which fully meets the needs of railway ballast tamping operations. 1. The bottom frame of the tamping machine is equipped with a traveling device and an operating pedal (the bottom of the pedal is equipped with a spring shock absorber) to realize automatic traveling, which improves operating efficiency and operating comfort, and reduces labor intensity.

2. Protective nets are installed on both sides of the tamping machine to ensure the safety of workers and the stability during tamping operations.

Working principle: The hydraulic line tamping machine is powered by a gasoline engine and drives the oil pump and vibration shaft through a V-belt. The eccentric body rotating at high speed with the vibration shaft generates an exciting force due to centrifugal force, and the high-pressure oil output by the oil pump enters the lifting cylinder and clamping cylinder through the reversing valve, thereby driving each execution component to achieve rail clamping, downward insertion, and clamping.
